Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc.

The Ricoh Company Ltd began its business on February 6, 1936 in Japan as a manufacturer of positive sensitised paper.

From that moment Ricoh grew to a famous company with over 100.000 employees worldwide and has offices in around 200 countries.

Today Ricoh is mainly well-known as a manufacturer of professional office automation devices such as copiers, printers, fax machines and scanners. Next to this, Ricoh has several other departments with products such as digital photo cameras, thermal paper and semiconductors. The Pentax brand was recently acquired and belongs now to Ricoh's portfolio for digital cameras.

Around 1981 Ricoh opened its own wafer factory in Yashiro, to start the production of wafers for semiconductor devices. This department was primary established to make imaging processors for internal use but sells today also products to the general electronics market. Ricoh's semiconductor devices are all made by CMOS technology, key features of these devices are high quality, low current consumption and small mounting area which makes them very suitable to use in battery operated applications such as smart phones, tablets etc.

In July 2013 Ricoh was ISO/TS19646 certified which enables business with automotive electronics application manufacturers, as a result we launched a new portfolio of power management ICs which are specified to the automotive quality standards.

The target industries we address are for portable devices, consumer devices, office automation, PC/notebook, smartphone/tablet, automotive and increase our market share by continuously developing new products to expand our product range.

  • Discrete power management ICs (LDO, Supervisory, DCDC converter, USB protection, Load switch)
  • Advanced single chip PMU ICs (companion chip for third party application processor)
  • Real time clock ICs
  • Battery management ICs (Li-Ion battery protection, Fuel gauge and Charger)
  • Imaging processors (for internal use)
